The Crystal Clear Waters of Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is located on the border between California and Nevada, about 110 miles from Sacramento. There are many quaint ski and beach towns dotting the perimeter of the lake. With just a quick 2-hour drive you can escape the bustle of the city and relax in a beautiful, wooded, mountain-lake retreat.

In the summer months, the beaches of Tahoe are busy. Lake Tahoe Beach and Mountain ViewFun activities for the water are boating, para-sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, and paddle-boating. And for those who aren’t interested in the water there are plenty of  golf courses. Also there are hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails around the lake ranging in length and difficulty. The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 165-mile trail that circumnavigates the lake.

Tahoe is also known for its winter sports such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, Winter at Lake Tahoeand snowshoeing. There are many resorts that cater to winter visitors.

Regardless of the season, gambling is another popular Tahoe activity. Gambling is legal in Nevada, so the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe has many casinos. They are located on the South Shore in Stateline, and on the North Shore in Crystal Bay and Incline Village.
